EQUIPMENT:OTHER:LABELS

NHTSA 25V111000
The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2017-2025 Coachmen Catalina, 2020-2025 Aurora, and 2025 Puma travel trailers. The Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on the Federal placard may exceed the safety chain rating. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 110, "Tire Selection and Rims" and 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars."
The risk
An incorrect weight rating may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Forest River will mail owners a corrected Federal Placard with application instructions, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 24, 2025. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 5745-825-4995, and Puma customer service at 1-574-642-0588. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1895.

NHTSA 22V003000
The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2021-2022 Coachmen Catalina and Forest River Aurora travel trailers. The panel that isolates the cooktop from the furnace was not properly sealed during manufacturing, which could result in an inverted cooktop flame.
The risk
An inverted flame can increase the risk of a fire.
The fix
Dealers will seal the furnace from the cooktop, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 1, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-8657. Forest River's number for this recall is 203-1454. This recall is an expansion of recall 21V-828.

The risk
Trailer brakes that fail to activate can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Dealers will inspect and re-wire the breakaway switch, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed August 2, 2022. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-825-6241. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1529.

Checking your own RV

A recall applies to a range of VINs, not to every 2021 Forest River Aurora built. To confirm whether yours is affected, find the 17-character VIN, on a plate near the entry door, inside a cabinet, or on the trailer tongue for a towable, and enter it in NHTSA's official lookup.

Repairs for safety recalls are free and never expire. A dealer cannot charge you, and cannot refuse on the grounds that the RV is old or out of warranty. If one does, call the NHTSA hotline on 1-888-327-4236.
