What this recall covers
- The defect
- Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Dynamax Isata vehicles. Inadequate warmup protection can cause a lack of oil film on the engine connecting rod bearings while the engine is reaching operating temperature. This can result in engine damage and connecting rod failure, which could potentially puncture the engine block.
- The risk
- A damaged engine block may leak oil, which can contact hot engine or exhaust components, increasing the risk of a fire.
- The fix
- Forest River will notify owners, and FCA dealers will reprogram the engine calibration software to enhance the engine warm up protection, free of charge. The recall began October 13, 2020. Owners may contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-1234. FCA's number for this recall is W57.
- Notes

Is my vehicle affected?
Being on this list means your year, make and model fall inside campaign 20V591000. It does not mean your individual vehicle does: a campaign covers a range of VINs built in a specific window, and vehicles either side of that window are untouched.
Check the 17-character VIN from the driver-side dashboard or door jamb against NHTSA's lookup. If it is covered, the dealer must do the work free of charge, regardless of the vehicle's age or mileage.
