What this recall covers
- The defect
- Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2017 Rockwood and Flagstaff trailers manufactured July 8, 2016, to July 11, 2016. The affected vehicles are equipped with a Federal Placard that incorrectly indicates that the ST225/75R15D tires have a recommended pressure of 50 PSI. These tires should be maintained at 65PSI. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
- The risk
- If the tires are run at a low pressure, they may overheat and fail, possibly causing a loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of a crash.
- The fix
- Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will provide a corrected Federal Placard, free of charge. The recall began on September 18, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-2640. Forest River's number for this recall is 10-07192016-0230.
