What this recall covers
- The defect
- Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain model year 2010-2016 Surveyor recreational trailers, models SVT243RBS and ORSVT243RBS. The affected vehicles have Federal Certification Placards that list an incorrect tire and rim size from what is actually installed on the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification."
- The risk
- If the operator installs tires that are the size that is indicated on the placard, it can cause poor vehicle handling, increasing the risk of a crash.
- The fix
- Forest River will notify owners and mail them a corrected Federal placard label, free of charge. The recall began on December 2, 2015. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-3119 extension 205. Forest River's number for this recall is 37-11052015-0106.

Is my vehicle affected?
Being on this list means your year, make and model fall inside campaign 15V741000. It does not mean your individual vehicle does: a campaign covers a range of VINs built in a specific window, and vehicles either side of that window are untouched.
Check the 17-character VIN from the driver-side dashboard or door jamb against NHTSA's lookup. If it is covered, the dealer must do the work free of charge, regardless of the vehicle's age or mileage.
