What this recall covers
- The defect
- Winnebago Industries, Inc (Winnebago) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Winnebago Brave, Sightseer, Vista and Adventurer motorhomes and Itasca Tribute, Sunova, Sunstar, and Suncruiser motorhomes manufactured from July 13, 2015, through October 6, 2015. The affected vehicles, built on Ford chassis, can be shifted out of 'PARK' without applying the brakes, due to an incorrect shift cable bracket and an improper shift cable adjustment.
- The risk
- If the vehicle can be shifted into reverse without the brakes being applied, the vehicle may unintentionally move, increasing the risk of a crash.
- The fix
- Ford will notify owners, and Ford dealers will replace the transmission shift control bracket and adjust the transmission shift cable, free of charge. The recall began on November 12, 2015. Owners may contact Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-3535 or Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.
- Notes
- Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is my vehicle affected?
Being on this list means your year, make and model fall inside campaign 15V664000. It does not mean your individual vehicle does: a campaign covers a range of VINs built in a specific window, and vehicles either side of that window are untouched.
Check the 17-character VIN from the driver-side dashboard or door jamb against NHTSA's lookup. If it is covered, the dealer must do the work free of charge, regardless of the vehicle's age or mileage.
