1 recall on the 2026 Gulf Stream Ameri-Lite

EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TURN SIGNAL

NHTSA 26V010000
The defect
Gulf Stream Coach, Inc. (Gulf Stream) is recalling certain 2026 Trail Boss and Ameri-Lite trailers. Wires in the taillight harness may be reversed, causing the turn signals to activate in the opposite direction as the driver intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk
Turn signals that fail to indicate the driver's intention to change direction increase the risk of a crash.
The fix
Owners are advised not to tow their trailers until the repair has been completed. Dealers will rewire the turn signals, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 21, 2026. Owners may contact Gulf Stream customer service at 1-800-289-8787. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning January 31, 2026.

Checking your own RV

A recall applies to a range of VINs, not to every 2026 Gulf Stream Ameri-Lite built. To confirm whether yours is affected, find the 17-character VIN, on a plate near the entry door, inside a cabinet, or on the trailer tongue for a towable, and enter it in NHTSA's official lookup.

Repairs for safety recalls are free and never expire. A dealer cannot charge you, and cannot refuse on the grounds that the RV is old or out of warranty. If one does, call the NHTSA hotline on 1-888-327-4236.
