1 recall on the 2023 Keystone Cougar
STRUCTURE:EMERGENCY:ESCAPE/EGRESS/EXIT
NHTSA 23V169000- The defect
- Keystone RV Company (Keystone) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Cougar travel trailers. These vehicles may have been manufactured without an emergency exit window.
- The risk
- Without an emergency exit window, there would not be a second way for occupants to exit the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.
- The fix
- Dealers will inspect, and replace the window if necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 29, 2023. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369. Keystone's number for this recall is 23-440.

Checking your own RV
A recall applies to a range of VINs, not to every 2023 Keystone Cougar built. To confirm whether yours is affected, find the 17-character VIN, on a plate near the entry door, inside a cabinet, or on the trailer tongue for a towable, and enter it in NHTSA's official lookup.
Repairs for safety recalls are free and never expire. A dealer cannot charge you, and cannot refuse on the grounds that the RV is old or out of warranty. If one does, call the NHTSA hotline on 1-888-327-4236.
