SUSPENSION:REAR:AXLE:NON-POWERED AXLE ASSEMBLY
NHTSA 18V658000- The defect
- Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2019 Grand Design Reflection, Imagine and Transcend travel trailers. These axles may be missing inner bearings on the hubs, which can cause the bearing to burnout or cause the hub to overheat.
- The risk
- If the bearings prematurely wear, it can cause the hub to overheat and smoke, increasing the risk of a fire.
- The fix
- Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will replace the defective hubs with new hubs or replace the axles, free of charge. The recall began October 22, 2018. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910015.
SUSPENSION:REAR:AXLE:NON-POWERED AXLE ASSEMBLY
NHTSA 18V823000- The defect
- Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2019 Grand Design Imagine recreational trailers, built on D28H, D35, D40 or D44 trailer axles. The inner hub bearings may not have been sufficiently greased, which can cause the bearings to overheat and fail.
- The risk
- If the bearings overheat, the hub may fail, affecting handling and increasing the risk of a crash.
- The fix
- Grand Design will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and repair the hubs and bearings, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began December 12, 2018. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910018.
EQUIPMENT:RECREATIONAL VEHICLE/TRAILER:LPG SYSTEMS
NHTSA 21V393000- The defect
- Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2016-2021 Imagine, Transcend, and Momentum travel trailers. The LP regulator that controls the LP gas pressure may fail, allowing excessive gas pressure that causes the appliance flame to increase.
- The risk
- Excessive gas pressure and a larger than intended appliance flame can increase the risk of a fire.
- The fix
- Dealers will replace the LP regulator, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 24, 2021. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910023.
