1 recall on the 2017 Heartland Landmark 365

TIRES:TEMPORARY/EMERGENCY SPARE TIRE

NHTSA 16V879000
The defect
Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC (Heartland) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Landmark 365 fifth wheel recreational trailers manufactured September 30, 2015, to October 24, 2016 and equipped with disc brakes. The spare steel wheel on the affected vehicles may not properly fit on the axle hub, resulting in the wheel rubbing on the brake line, causing it to wear.
The risk
The brake line may be worn through causing a loss of braking or vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix
Heartland will notify owners, and dealers will replace the steel spare wheel with an aluminum wheel, free of charge. The recall began on January 11, 2017. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032. Heartland's number for this recall is 99.01.30.

Checking your own RV

A recall applies to a range of VINs, not to every 2017 Heartland Landmark 365 built. To confirm whether yours is affected, find the 17-character VIN, on a plate near the entry door, inside a cabinet, or on the trailer tongue for a towable, and enter it in NHTSA's official lookup.

Repairs for safety recalls are free and never expire. A dealer cannot charge you, and cannot refuse on the grounds that the RV is old or out of warranty. If one does, call the NHTSA hotline on 1-888-327-4236.
