TIRES
NHTSA 20V221000- The defect
- Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2016 Rockwood RLT2604WS, WRLT2604WS, Flagstaff FLT26RLWS and WFLT26RLWS recreational trailers. Due to insufficient clearance between the front tire and slide out actuator, the tire may contact the slide out bracket and become damaged.
- The risk
- If the front tire becomes damaged, it may fail and cause a loss control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- The fix
- Forest River will notify owners, and dealers will install a lift kit that will provide the proper clearance between the tire and the slide out bracket. Damaged tires will be replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began May 11, 2020. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-574-642-8943. Forest River's number for this recall is 10D-1159.

Checking your own RV
A recall applies to a range of VINs, not to every 2016 Forest River Rockwood built. To confirm whether yours is affected, find the 17-character VIN, on a plate near the entry door, inside a cabinet, or on the trailer tongue for a towable, and enter it in NHTSA's official lookup.
Repairs for safety recalls are free and never expire. A dealer cannot charge you, and cannot refuse on the grounds that the RV is old or out of warranty. If one does, call the NHTSA hotline on 1-888-327-4236.
